The History of Magnet ManFor as long as I can remember comic books have been a major part of my life & I have always loved them. Whether it was reading comics during ‘quiet time’ at school, getting comics from Mom to make me feel better when I was sick, or passing the time during the family trip to the drug store by hanging out at the comic rack & checking out all of the cool new releases, comics were always there for me. I loved comics so much that I began to create my own characters & stories. I began to scratch out my own little
comic strips in a small note pad & on any scrap of paper I could get my hands on. Once I got older my love for comics only grew stronger. I began making my own mini-comics & sharing them with anyone I could find. My first publication was called Collage & was a combination of poetry & collage. Soon afterward I began a series called M.O.M. Comics, which was basically the same format & is still going strong today. Along the way I developed my own unique style of storytelling which involved using only one drawing of each character. Kind of like playing with finger-puppets. The Magnet Man character made little occasional cameos in M.O.M.Comics & eventually found himself, at long last, in his own series. I have truly enjoyed producing every issue of Magnet Man. It is great to be able to do an ongoing series where I can watch a character born from my childhood mind come alive in a world that I created. While little about the Magnet Man character is the same as it was all those years ago, it is still nice to think that one childhood dream I had, of doing a comic book featuring my favorite character, has actually come true.... even if only on a small scale. Magnet Man Minicomics, as well as the other publications that I produce through ed 4 Time Press are a true labor of love. I hope that you can share some of the enjoyment I have felt. Take care. Cordially,
